Variants
Variations are the versions of a product a shopper can choose, such as T-shirt, Red, M. Each variation can have its own photo, SKU, price and stock.
Variations are built from attributes and their terms.
Create variations
- Open the product and go to Attributes.
- Select attributes, such as Colors and Sizes, and add them.
- Tick the terms this product uses, for example Red, Blue and S, M, L. You can also type a new term just for this product.
- Go to Variations and choose Generate variations. It makes every combination, here 6.
- Choose Save.
Set up each variation
Open a variation's Details to set its:
- Photo
- SKU
- Price. Leave it empty to use the default price from General.
- Stock by warehouse, with a Low stock at threshold for alerts.
- Dimensions and weight, if different from the product's.
Total stock adds up all warehouses. Use Hide to stop selling one combination without deleting it.
Stock alerts
A variation shows Low stock when it drops to its threshold at a warehouse, and Out of stock when none is left. Stores that ship from that warehouse show it as out of stock.
